Connie Hoagland is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified School Counselor. She is a graduate of Sam Houston State University, where she received a Master’s Degree in Counseling and a Bachelor’s Degree in Academic Studies with a certification in Special Education. Connie’s areas of interest include Faith-Based Counseling, women’s issues, past abuse, marital/couples therapy, relationship issues, and grief/loss. She works with children, adolescents and adults in individual or group settings.
Connie has ten years of experience working with women and women’s issues in a faith-based setting. She also has twenty-four years of experience working as an educator and school counselor in Elementary, Intermediate and High School settings. She has experience helping students, parents, and teachers with academic concerns, college and career goals, and grief/loss. In addition, Connie has ten years of experience working with youth ages 12-18 in a youth group setting.
In keeping with current trends and community demands, Connie has most recently certified as a Behavior Insights Provider for "Managing Yourself", a powerful coaching modality that enables clients to learn about themselves and their relationships with others, so that they can move forward to live an even more fulfilling life.
During the counseling process, Connie strives to treat each person with respect and concern. Her focus is on helping the client recognize individual personal needs, discover strengths and abilities, set and reach personal goals, and communicate needs to family members and friends. Connie is willing to take the extra step to meet the needs of clients and help them grow to their full potential. She tirelessly advocates and searches out creative solutions for clients.
